Twitch Streamer Shoutout: An Ode to GameAndSound

Some longtime readers will see this name and find it somewhat familiar. The deja vu is not unwarranted; I have actually written an ode to this person before. As a result, this might be somewhat redundant, so I’ll do what I can to supply new information concerning his streams primarily.

As the October train of follows continued, one particular channel stood out among the rest. Unlike other channels on Twitch, this one did not have anything to prove before I hit that “Follow” button, and I did so the moment it came to mind. “Of course I should follow him, I’ve been doing so on YouTube for years!”

Twitch Streamer Shoutout: An Ode to MinishKat

On October 1st, 2020, I quit my retail job of three years. Mentally ravaged by the pressure of abiding by COVID regulations and hardening myself to vile, confrontational customers, I managed to start work full-time remotely. This meant a lot more time online, along with more opportunity to attend Twitch streams.

After six-plus months of not following more than three people on Twitch, October laid the seeds to grow that number exponentially in the months to come. One of the first to really establish themselves as a channel to remember came very… randomly.

Twitch Streamer Shoutout: An Ode to RaeRaeSenpai

Opening up this month of shoutouts is someone particularly special to my history with Twitch. My introduction to her came through extraordinary means, resulting in a “right place at the right time” sequence of events that laid the path to my residency on the platform. A joyful exuberance of positivity and affection, each stream is a showcase of fun, coziness, and elation.

July Will Be a Month Full of Odes to Twitch Streamers

Hello, everyone. A short post today, aimed at further elaborating on what the title already conveys. All throughout the month of July, I will be writing Ode-type posts to Twitch streamers I have since become enamored with and/or believe deserve shouting out.

For those unaware, I have written about my newfound experience with Twitch before, and it has become a comfortable part of my day to listen in to a few streamers daily. Does this end up filling up my day from beginning to end? Generally, yes. Does it get overwhelming? Generally, yes. Nevertheless, many streamers have become important to me, and I felt the desire to showcase my affection through the only means I know I’m moderately good at: writing.

I will be writing a post of varying size every other day in July, starting with July 1st. So July 1st, then 3rd, then 5th, and so forth. Whether or not I do this up until the 31st is currently undetermined, though it’s guaranteed to at least get to the 27th.

And for those who want a slight taste of what these “Ode-type” posts will look like, you can take a look at my latest Ode-type post. (Wow, it’s been nearly two years…)

Thank you all, as always, for your continued support and time. I hope my unfiltered affection manages to make for quality blogging content.

Updated Thoughts on Metroid Fusion

Last weekend was not great. I had been dealing with the fallout of a certain incident which resulted in a less-than-stellar perception of myself, leaving me in an emotional rut. One nice silver lining, though, was the decision to play through all of Metroid Fusion in one sitting, something I had not done in several years.

After reading my prior review of the game, I’ve decided to update my thoughts on the title. Why? Because holy hell do I not agree with much of what I said before. Plus, I’m an obsessive self-reviser. Five years with no touch-ups on the topic is sure to drive me insane.

Top 10 Games I’m Looking Forward to After E3 2021

I truly missed E3. After being cancelled last year, 2021 returned with all the lovely game announcements and surprise reveals that I once cherished as a gaming connoisseur. While my tastes and standards have shifted since 2019, I still viewed the Wholesome Direct, Xbox/Bethesda Showcase, and Nintendo Direct in full, and otherwise kept a pulse on the E3 “hype train” on social media.

So many games… I can barely keep my head on straight (not that I could before). Now that most of the celebration is done and gone, what’s there to look forward to? What games am I, specifically, foaming at the mouth to get my hands on? These are the ten games that I’m most looking forward to post E3 2021.

Updated Thoughts on Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

A Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door review already exists on this site. Along with it, an extensive amount of posts on its content, via Traveling Thoughts. Even with this amount of information about my thoughts on the series, I couldn’t help but feel the need to clarify further. It seems my quest for constant updates upon further self-reflection will never have me run out of content to post. That, and in hindsight, I believe my prior review on this topic is underdeveloped. I had the Traveling Thoughts, but really, who’s gonna read all that? (I should do another Traveling Thoughts subject soon…)
