It is the Youtube scandal that has rocked the internet asunder. It is the type of juicy drama that humanity swarms around for the shock and awe. Involving not one, but multiple prominent internet celebrities, the events that have unfolded in the last 48 hours have essentially destroyed ProJared and his Youtube career.
Since then, I have seen many different takes on the state of ProJared’s Youtube career. Most of them insinuate that it is irredeemably fucked. Some of them believe that, through visual change and time, he could come back and be forgiven. This has got me thinking, as one who has been following this mess since first discovering it hours after everything was brought to light. Is Projared truly fucked? Or could he be forgiven? Through three weeks, the Alliance of American Football has put up, in my own opinion, a pretty commendable product. The games are typically close, and while they aren’t point-fests, plenty of big plays permeate the games that occur each weekend. Just last night, San Diego Fleet running back Ja’Quan Gardner pulled off an 83-yard touchdown run, the longest play in the AAF thus far as well as the longest play in its short history. It was a great, exciting play, which many saw happen… from the comfort of their homes, on Youtube, or on the official AAF website. Antonio Brown has made his mark on the NFL over the course of his entire career. With 11,207 receiving yards in nine seasons, he’s proven to be one of the most dangerous receiving threats in NFL history, which is made more amazing by the fact that he was a sixth-round draft pick. Based on performance alone, should he retire tomorrow, there’s considerable argument that he could make the Hall of Fame, and that he’s the best wide receiver the Pittsburgh Steelers have had in their rich history. This makes it all the more troubling—specifically for Steelers fans—considering the present circumstances, which has Brown and the team heading into an ugly divorce.
